Dublin Diocesan Pastoral Council – Report

Dublin Diocesan Pastoral Council – Report

The Dublin Diocesan Pastoral Council (DDPC), formed last year, has been meeting, quarterly, since September 2025. Recently, we agreed on a short report, outlining developments during this first, formative year of our three-year term.

The DDPC is representative of the whole diocese, and I am pleased to make available at this link a copy of the report for your information. This summarises what we have done so far to enable us to work co-responsibly with Archbishop Farrell for the good of the diocese. As an expression of synodality in action and recognising the pastoral renewal underway through the combined Building Hope pastoral planning and synodal pathway processes, we hope that our contribution will encourage, support and deepen participation in the further renewal and building up of faith-filled communities across the diocese.

We acknowledge in the final sections of the report that we are now moving towards a period of deeper sharing, and more urgent planning, as supporters and agents of change, nurturing the growth of the living Church through a time of transition. In these regards, we look forward to working more closely with deaneries, parishes and diocesan offices in the period ahead.

At the end of each meeting of the DDPC, we agree a concise report of the matters discussed. Those for our first year are appended to the report, and the latest one reflecting our meeting of 1 September is available here. We will make all future reports available to you following our scheduled quarterly meetings.

With kind regards.
