VC logoViatores Christi offers an excellent training programme called Venture, delivered twice a year which aims to prepare prospective development workers, missionaries or volunteers for working and living in a developing country. The next training programme start on 22nd September 2018.

lumenop logoThe Adult Education Certificate in Spirituality is a two-year part-time evening programme run by Lumen · Dominican Centre, Sion Hill Campus, Blackrock. The programme takes place on Thursday evenings from 7.00–9.30pm and there are six Saturday workshops each year from 10.00am–4.00pm. Students complete fifteen modules each year which deal with key issues in spiritual development. The programme involves a combination of teaching by experienced lecturers, group discussion and the use of journaling. This combination assists participants to integrate course material into their experience. There is no end of year or final exam.

Season of CreationThe Season of Creation is celebrated throughout the Christian world from 1st September to 4th October, the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi.
The Season of Creation has a special significance for the Catholic Church since Pope Francis established 1st September as an annual “World Day of Prayer” for the care of Creation.
This year’s Season of Creation has the theme of “walking together”.

Foundational Christian Leadership for Young Adults LogoWould you like to learn more about being a leader in your Church, your parish, your community?  The dublin diocese are running a Foundational Leadership Programme for Young Adults over four Saturdays (10am-3pm) from October 2018 – March 2019.

This course is designed to support young adults and, in turn, their parishes.  It is a dynamic, integrative and highly practical programme which will enable the participants to begin developing their skills as leaders and role models within their local faith–based communities.

National Grandparents PilgrimageThe National Grandparents Pilgrimage is taking place on Sunday 9th September at Knock Shrine
Join the annual Catholic Grandparents pilgrimage with the Catholic Grandparents Association. It promises to be a wonderful day of celebration for grandparents and their families.

caminoEmbark on a seven-Church Pilgrimage in Dublin. The World Meeting of Families 2018 Pilgrim Walk will take place from 18 – 25 August 2018. Pilgrims are invited to undertake the WMOF2018 Pilgrim Walk. It involves visiting seven designated churches.

Walk while you canFr. Tony Coote, PP of Mount Merrion, was diagnosed with motor neurone disease earlier this year.  He has started a walk from Letterkenny to Ballydehob to create awareness and raise some much-needed funding for the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association and Research Motor Neurone

WMOF2018 work for Pope FrancisWith just six weeks to go to the World Meeting of Families 2018 in Dublin from 21 – 26 August, the WMOF are opening a new opportunity for those who have availability to volunteer for one day for WMOF2018.

The WMOF are asking for Volunteer Papal Mass Stewards and Holy Communion Team volunteers for the Closing Mass of WMOF2018 which will take place in the Phoenix Park on Sunday 26th August.

Report on Parish Finances 2017We sincerely thank you all who have contributed so generously during the year to our parish funds. These funds are used exclusively to cover day to day running costs of the parish and costs associated with the maintenance of our Church and Parish Buildings.
