new membersThe Adult Choir The Donnybrook Church adult choir sings at the noon Mass each Sunday, and at other times of the Church year most notably the Easter ceremonies and Christmas celebrations.

Presently we have 31 very friendly and welcoming members in the choir. Catherine Killoran, our choir director, inspires us and keeps us in good humour (and usually in tune).

Bible Week 2015In 2014 the first Ecumenical Bible Week was held in Dublin, running from Pentecost Sunday to Trinity Sunday.  The experiment was deemed successful enough to encourage the organisers to learn from that experience and to run another “EBW” in 2015.

This year, the overall topic is “What is the Spirit saying to the Churches?”

Rosary RelayThe Annual Global Rosary Relay idea is a simple one: in that each of the 84 participating shrines in 46 countries prays a particular mystery of the Rosary at a particular half hour on the day in thanksgiving to God for our priests and to implore the protection and loving care of Our Lady, Mother of all priests, for all her priestly sons. With the coming of midnight on the 12th June 2015, the entire world, by then, will have been encircled in prayer for our priests on this The Annual Rosary Relay Day.

Monastic lifeSt. Kevin went to Glendalough to follow his dream which was to find God in solitude and prayer.Out of that dream the Monastic Community in Glendalough was born.  On June 3rd the Dublin Diocese will celebrate the feast of St. Kevin.

WYD-2016WYD is a worldwide encounter with the Pope which is typically celebrated every three years in a different country. The most recent WYD was celebrated in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from July 23rd to 28th, 2013 and the next World Youth Day will be held in Krakow, Poland in 2016 See www.krakow2016.com.

The Dublin Archdiocese will lead a group comprising two age categories: 16 to 18 year olds and young adults over 18. We would like to help sponsor students and young adults to attend as representatives of Donnybrook parish.

nepal earthquake2Trócaire has committed an initial €100,000 to the Nepal emergency response.  The organisation’s response is focused on getting shelter, food and water to people left homeless as a result of last Saturday’s devastating earthquake.
