Report on Parish Finances 2017We sincerely thank you all who have contributed so generously during the year to our parish funds. These funds are used exclusively to cover day to day running costs of the parish and costs associated with the maintenance of our Church and Parish Buildings.

We attach a Summary of the financial statement for the year ending 31st December 2017 and comparative figures for 2016. The 2016 figures are for an eighteen-month period. The 2017 figures are prepared on an accrual basis whereas the 2016 figures were prepared on a receipt and payment basis. This change is required by the Charities Regulatory Authority. The statement has been reviewed by Hayden Brown, Chartered Accountants.

There was a surplus of €24,160 in the year. Total Income was €294,990, the main sources of income were family offerings and tax rebates. Family offerings are made up from standing orders, Christmas and Easter parish offerings and weekly envelopes. Tax rebates are refunds from Revenue on your contributions to the Church.

Expenses were €270,830, major items of expenditure were salaries/wages, heat/light, insurance and repairs.

Capital expenditure amounted to €142,430 in the year. This expenditure related mainly to the new parish centre project. This expenditure was funded from our development fund. To date the total value of pledges received is €2.4 million of which €1.1 million has been drawn down. The fund is managed by the Dioceses on our behalf.

Closing parish bank balances at the 31st December 2017 were €781,808. The increase is due to drawing down cash from our development fund and surplus generated in the year.

If you are not already a contributor to the parish fund, we would ask you to consider making a contribution to support the parish. A Standing Order Form is in the full report.

Thank you again for your generous support.

Administrator Chairman,
